Alice Walker is a pioneer of Afro-American women’s literature. In her writing, she draws on the excellent values, lifestyles and customs rooted in Africa and tries to show the black culture from the African continent to enhance the self-esteem, self-confidence and self-reliance of her own nation. This article will explore and study further the folklore in Africa from three aspects of folklore, black religion and black dialect.
