辽宁省铁道学会自1980年10月20日正式成立以来,坚持学会的宗旨,立足辽宁,胸怀全国,积极开展学术交流、科学普及、科技咨询等活动取得了显著的成绩。到1994年已荣获省级以上先进学会或先进称号15次。全国省级“学会之星”称号4次。 辽宁省铁道学会挂靠沈阳铁路局受辽宁省科协和沈阳铁路局双重领导。由沈阳铁路局、大连铁道学院、沈阳机车车辆厂、沈阳桥梁厂、沈阳信号厂、沈阳铁道制动机厂、沈阳物资公司、大连机车车辆厂、大连内燃机车研究所、鞍山工务器材厂、鞍山钢铁公司、本溪钢铁公司、抚顺矿务局、阜新矿务局、大连港务局、辽宁省地方铁路局、大连重型机器厂、沈阳煤炭设计院等36个单位组成。下设17个专业委员会、1个工作委员会1个中心及大连、锦州分会,现有会员5561人。

Under the 17 professional committees, a working committee and a center in Dalian, Jinzhou branch, the existing members of 5561 people.
