In the past, the habit of grafting camellia with wild camellia or single petal camellia as rootstock. However, according to more than a decade of practical observation by the author, the camellia after grafting is not ideal. Generally the first two years out of the flowers, still able to show the original characteristics of the scion, but from the third year flowering situation, the flowers showed a degeneration, flower diameter smaller, the color is also somewhat different from the original, Petals reduce the number. By the fourth year, the degeneration of flowers becomes more apparent. In the recent five or six years, the author changed the use of medium-grade camellia such as ’Snow Tower’ and ’Eighteen Bachelor’ when grafting camellia. This trick, very spiritual! On these grafted plants (still flower from the point of view), the original good performance of scions can remain relatively stable. That is, the flowers in the fourth and fifth years of these plants did not differ significantly from those in the first, second and third years on the flower diameter, flower color and petal number. Camellia lovers may wish to try.
