2008年春夏之交,水洞沟迎来了前所未有的“丰收期”。4月9日,中国科学院地球科学处处长周少平代表中科院宣布,正式在水洞沟成立中国科学院古脊椎动物研究所宁夏工作站,同时成立了宁夏水洞沟遗址研究院;《中国国家地理》4月号以专题形式推介了《水洞沟:见证东西方文化的远古碰撞》一文;5月1日,中央电视台7套的乡村节目隆重推出水洞沟专题;随后。央视10套,也转播了该专题。进入5月,水洞沟遗址博物馆开始了主题工程建设。大家不禁要问,水洞沟何以吸引这么多目光呢?为此,本刊特邀主笔唐荣尧撰写了这篇文章,以飨读者。
Spring and summer of 2008, Shuidonggou ushered in an unprecedented “harvest period ”.
