兴中会时期是陈少白一生中革命成就最为突出的时期。此时他参与组建兴中会香港总部;结交日本革命志士宫崎寅藏等,为革命获得宝贵的外援;参与兴中会与保皇派的谈判,努力争取两派的合作,并对顽固的保皇派坚决斗争;他创办革命派第一份报纸《中国日报》,为宣传革命作出了重要贡献;他还联络会党,组建兴汉会,为革命聚集力量。
