The first volume of the junior high school Chinese teaching material for the nine-year compulsory education of the People’s Education Press made a useful exploration of the relationship between Chinese teaching and real life. The editors arranged the life contents of the 8 units according to the texts from the near and far. The order was: family life, school life, social life, revolutionary life, natural scenery, economic and cultural life, scientific world, and imaginary world. Why do the editors rank the family life at the front? I think: This reveals the life of the Chinese language teaching link. First of all, what the children are eager to learn. Most of the lives of young people are spent in the family. The family’s father, mother, grandfather, and grandmother are the ones most eager to learn and close to them.
