十堰市地处川、渝、陕、豫、鄂交界,电力市场竞争异常激烈,供电区域呈现电力系统、二汽、丹江水利枢纽三足鼎立之势,加之地方小水电发电,供电量“四分天下”。一、十堰市电力市场现状十堰市是因第二汽车厂的兴建而建设起来的。上世纪50年代,国家在十堰境内建设156项重点工程之一的丹江口水利枢纽,使十堰一夜之间成为当时全国最大的水电城。60年代末,国家从二十三个省抽调力量,在这里建设第二汽车制造厂,十堰成为全国最大的卡车基地。1992年跻身全国城市50强,人均生产总值跃居国内第6位,城市综合实力排名22位。90年代中期,全国卡车市场出现结构性疲软,使十堰这座因车而建,因车而兴,靠车发展的新型工业城一度失去了昔日的风采,加上农业十年九灾,旱涝夹击,整个城市经济低迷。
