不同时期的古埃及文献对边疆有不同的记述。最初,边疆用来区分埃及疆域内不同区域的界限;随着古埃及人对地理的认知和王权的增强,边疆则更多用于埃及和外族疆域的划分,埃及人也由最初对边疆的恐惧发展为对边疆扩展的期待。古埃及人的边疆观映射出埃及国王对周边地区影响力的增强,对不同区域所实施的边疆政策蕴含着埃及国王的统治理念和治国方针,边疆观的演变一定程度上影响了埃及人的族群意识和对外交往方式,古埃及国王统一尼罗河流域和对周边外族征战的实践均体现在边疆观念之中。
Different periods of ancient Egyptian literature have different accounts of the frontier. At first, the frontier was used to distinguish the boundaries of different regions within the Egyptian frontier. As the ancient Egyptians became more aware of geography and their kingship, the frontier was more used for the division of Egyptian and alien territory, Fear develops into anticipation of the expansion of the frontier. The ancient Egyptians’ frontier views reflected that the king of Egypt enhanced their influence on the surrounding areas. The border policies implemented in different regions implied the concept of dictatorship and administration of the Egyptian kings, and the evolution of borderlands influenced the Egyptian population to a certain extent Consciousness and methods of diplomatic relations, the practice of the King of Egypt in reunification of the Nile Valley and the expeditions to the surrounding foreigners are reflected in the concept of frontier.
