航空护林是森林防火工作的重要组成部份,其特点是:①机动性大,不受地形和道路条件限制;②速度快,能迅速运输扑火力量,在林区道路网密度很低的情况下,尤为重要;③侦察精确,对起火点和火场范围标定较准;④控制面广,空中鸟瞰,一览全局。这些特点是地面设拖所不及的,对无人无路偏远山区的火灾进行扑救更为重要。既或地面道路网密度达到4m/公顷和其他设施比较完善的林区,在预防和扑救森林火灾上也离不开空中的支援。因为在抢险救灾上,速度快是至关重要的,不能认为地面设施搞好了,就可不用飞机;但航空护林尚须有个适当的发展。我认为我国发展航空护林搞“大机群”的预防和扑救为时尚早,在本世纪内还不可
