When the novel coronavirus epidemics was at its peak in China, Dou Huining, a 30-year-old civil servant in Tianjin, a port city in north China, supervised epidemic control measures in local vegetable markets, kept vigil at the entrance of residential building blocks and picked up people reting from overseas at the airport to take them to designated hotels for quarantine.
