仙客来又名罗卜海棠、兔耳花,系报春花科、仙客来属多年生草本植物。其花期很长,从当年11月份现蕾开花,一般至翌年5月上旬,若管理得当,在石家庄地区可持续到6月上旬。仙客来花有白、绯红、大红,还有白色锒红边的。仙客来的花葶直立挺拔,现蕾时花蕾顶尖朝下,而开花后花瓣上翻,花蕊仍然朝下,花色艳丽动人;其叶肥大翠绿且有蜡质光亮,整株仙客来10余支花葶高举鲜艳夺目的花朵,由周围绿叶纣托,显得格外壮观。
