As the greatest modern sculptor of the 20th century, Henry Moore, a British sculptor, influenced the development of contemporary sculpture. His name is one of the loudest artist names since the Second World War. The reason why he has won the respect of the people of the world is that his art is closely linked with the modern era of industrial society. Historically, the object of sculpture has always been dominated by the creation of sacred heroes, sages, political leaders or athletes. Before the twentieth century, it was unheard of to create a sculpture of an image with neither practical nor concrete content. Henry Moore’s work creates a new language of sculpture for the times, a language that speaks to the environment and a modern language full of humanity.
