On December 1, 2010, an elderly man who practiced medicine for 65 years left in Jinan quietly. According to his family’s last wish, he donated his remains to the Jinan Red Cross Society and became the first foreign friend in the history of Shandong Province to donate his remains. There is no solemn ceremony for the funeral of the elderly, there is no memorial service, or even a wreath of flowers and a bouquet that can not be simple anymore. My family hopes to send the elderly quietly in this way. However, many citizens of Jinan heard the news spontaneously to the elderly’s home condolences. The old man is Yamazaki Hiroshi, formerly known as “the last devil soldier in China” whom the media described as “a former Japanese army medic who was nicknamed” devil doctor "by the Jinan people.
