On January 5, 1999, the inauguration ceremony of the Smuggling Criminal Investigation Bureau of the General Administration of Customs and the Beijing Customs Smuggling Criminal Investigation Branch and the first ceremony of awarding the police rank of anti-smuggling police officers were held.
