Herpes simplex virus (HSV) and aseptic meningitis may be related, mainly based on clinical observations and serological data. HSV-2 has recently been isolated from blood and cerebrospinal fluid, suggesting that HSV-2n ∫ causes aseptic meningitis. The authors found HSV-1 from cerebrospinal fluid in two children with acute aseptic meningitis. Example 1,4-year-old boy of 11 months due to fever, nausea and vomiting 2 to 3 days admission.
