在2003年中国信息产业经济年会上,国家发展改革委员会高技术产业司官员说,中国信息产业在该年将完成销售收入18000亿元,出口额超过1200亿元,产业规模为全球第三位,是中国国民经济第一大支柱产业。 而在这个第一大支柱产业中,登陆中国仅仅10余年的手机就扮演了一个极其重要的角色。 据信产部最新统计,截止到2003年10月底,我国的移动电话用户数已达到2.56938亿,超过总数为2.55139亿的固定电话用户数,成为世界上移动电话用户超过固定电话用户的国家之一。

According to the latest statistics from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of October 2003, the number of mobile phone users in our country reached 256,938.3 million, exceeding the total number of fixed-line users of 255.13 million and becoming one of the countries in the world with more mobile phone users than landline users .
