Preface The founding of the People’s Republic of China In the thirty years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a comprehensive and systematic management of the Liaohe River Basin has been carried out. Major farmland infrastructures, mountain management, flood control and water improvement have been carried out, and a large number of water conservancy projects have been constructed. Significant achievements have been achieved through the regulation of flow and control of floods and the protection of the safety of workers, agricultural workers and people in the area.
