With the globalization of world economy, foreign language educators have realized the importance of incorporating business languages and culture into language curriculum, in order to familiarize the students with international business etiquette to succeed in business communication. This article provides a brief description of teaching business Chinese in the US, with particular example of the survey results on business Chinese instruction at Purdue University. It reports in details the project entitled Practical Business Chinese--An Interactive Learning Assistant, which was completed in 1999 at Purdue University.
