O. IntroductionGold is commonly considered an inert element, but its geochemicalproperties are not so inert. In the area of gold deposits the conecntra-tions of gold in water are high. It can not only migrate in water, butalso easily precipitate if the chemical conditions change. This is impor-tant both in prospecting for gold by hydrogeochemical methods, and ingold formation.
