口腔正畸学的发展,促使正畸材料学也相应地发展起来。在正畸材料学上有意义的进展是30年代后期和40年代开始应用了不锈钢丝制做矫正器。近年来钛镍合金丝的出现是正畸材料学上又一次较大的进展。 钛镍丝与不锈钢丝比较有两个特点,一是“形状记忆”(Shape Memory),但该特性在美国还未用于正畸临床,目前还在研究当中。另一个特性是它有明显的弹性,美国已由Unitek公司制成预成唇弓丝,提供临床使用。我科采用有色金属研究总院研制的钛镍合金丝矫正牙颌畸形。
The development of orthodontics has prompted the development of orthodontic materials. Significant advances in orthodontic materials were the use of stainless steel wire braces in the late 1930s and early 1940s. In recent years, the appearance of titanium-nickel alloy wire is another major progress in orthodontic materials science. Compared with stainless steel wire, titanium-nickel wire has two characteristics. One is Shape Memory, but this feature has not been used in orthodontic clinic in the United States and is still under study. Another characteristic is that it has obvious elasticity. The United States has been made by Unitek Company into a preformed lip arch wire for clinical use. Our department uses Nonferrous Metal Research Institute developed titanium-nickel alloy wire orthodontics.
