在“老瘟地”上进行甘薯品种抗病鉴定，对某些甘薯品种地上部症状不明显，而地下部薯块感染、薯肉变色者进行分离接种，鉴定确认这类病株系由薯瘟Ⅱ群菌系潜伏侵染引起。试验还表明湛７３－１６５．湘杂９号等１５个品种（薯块完好，薯肉正常），具抗潜伏侵染能力。
