1984年以来,江苏先后在海州湾前三岛海域投放混凝土沉式人工鱼礁、石块等2000多立方米,并设置了部分悬架浮式礁.混凝土鱼礁有箱型、X型和锥台型等几种,力图使其有中空能诱集、栖息海洋生物并作为固定海面浮架之用,率先在我国将海底沉式人工鱼礁与海面悬架浮式礁结合起来,并使人工鱼礁与海珍品增养殖相结合.为搞好增养殖工作,还成立了前三岛海珍品增养殖试验站.
