小红果即野生山楂,系蔷薇科,学名为Crataegus Pinnatifida Bge。因其秋冬季红果累累、经久不凋,十分可爱,故为园林庭院的常用观果树木,也可用来作篱笆与盆景材料。生产上多采用播种繁殖,但其种子的休眠期长,一般需砂藏两冬一夏始能发芽,即今冬采收,要到第三年才能春播,发芽率仍较低,最高仅为30％左右。试验采用~(80)Co-r射线辐照;刺激小红果种子,打破其休眠期,使其能在收获后即可播种。两年来的试验均获成功。
