在民主革命时期,先进的知识分子表现出了极大的爱国主义热情,学习并传播马克思列宁主义,逐步与工人运动相结合,从而实现了马列主义同工人运动的结合,这是先进知识分子对革命成功的伟大贡献。新中国成立后,知识分子的绝大部分是工人阶级的一部分,为了全面开展社会主义建设,必须以极大的努力发展科学技术和文化。因而,知识分子要继续发扬爱国主义精神,承担起重大的社会责任,在经济建设中发挥不可替代的作用。
