北大荒书法艺术长廊始建于1992年,距密山市区10公里,由碑林、碑廊和坐落在山间的石碑组建而成,设计之美、碑刻数量之多,在国内堪称一流。如今,这一景观已成为人们学习弘扬北大荒精神的课堂。它的创意者、设计者、施工建设的组织者和领导者叫胡春东。胡春东原任密山市人事局局长,酷爱书法,写得一手好字。现在碑林的原址是人事局下设的干部疗养院,设备简陋,功能单一。
