1997年东谷坨遗址出土的石制品，特别是其中的“东谷坨定型石核”迸一步肯定了该遗址石器工业的进步性，对全面认识泥河湾盆地旧石器时代早期文化具有重要意义。

The stone products unearthed from the Donggu Tuo site in 1997, especially the “Donggu Tuo-shaped stone nucleus” further affirmed the progress of the stone industry in this site and is of great significance for the comprehensive understanding of the Early Palaeolithic culture in the Nihewan Basin .
