On May 29, the State Forestry Administration held a symposium on collective forest tenure reform in which leaders responsible for comrades from the five northwestern provinces and autonomous regions and the Bureau of Forestry of the Tibet Autonomous Region took part in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. State Council SF Jia Jia Bang stressed: In close connection with the natural, economic and social reality of the five provinces and autonomous regions in northwest China and the implementation of the important directives and instructions given by the leaders of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the reform of the collective forest tenure system, “Ecologically fragile, scarce forest resources, a higher proportion of ecological public welfare forest.”
