为了给公众提供高效、周到的服务,利用先进的信息技术提高上海海关整体网络的信息化水平,上海海关采用了 CA 公司的 Unicenter TNG 管理其计算中心遍布全市的36个分支机构,实现对上海海关全网高效集中的管理。上海海关综合业务网络主要分为海关业务主骨网、EDI 外部网、办公自动化网和 Internet 服务。上海海关的 IT 系统包括软件科、网络科、运行科等部门,在上海海关计算机中心的36个分部共使用1000多个终端,用以实现全网 IT 系统需要完成的辅助组织网络、远程定位、硬件及所有服务器与客户端的管理。上海海关的运算业务架构主要为 OpenVMS系统,除此之外,它还采用 Digital Unix和 Windows NT,数据库系统采用 RDB,用户通过终端访问主机资源。其网络整体架构以 FDDI 为网络骨干,运算网络主要为 DECNet,连接着多种网络平台及操作系统;TCP/IP 被作为其运算网络的未来发展方向,但目前的传输协议还包括DDN、X.25、帧中继等协议。
