我省小麦面积大,分布广(主要分布在襄阳、荆州两个地区),年产量占夏粮总产量的70％以上,是夏粮的主要作物。因此,小麦产量的高低,对我省粮食生产的提高,尤其是“以夏促秋”有其重要意义。 解放以来,在毛主席的无产阶级革命路线指引下,认真贯彻“以粮为纲,全面发展”的方针,深入开展“农业学大寨”的群众运动,我省小麦产量逐年上升。1972年战胜了严重自然灾害,夺得了小麦生产较好的收成。与解放初期相比,单产增加85％,总产增加了一倍
The wheat in our province is large in area and widely distributed (mainly in Xiangyang and Jingzhou areas).
