Objective: To investigate the effects of dietary education on expectant treatment of pregnant women with constipation and pregnancy outcome. Methods: 100 hospitalized pregnant women were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, 50 cases in each group. Pregnant women in the intervention group received special dietary education and defecation training. In the control group, no special dietary intervention was given. The general diet was routinely given. Results: The improvement of stool condition in the intervention group was significantly better than that in the control group (P <0.01). The incidence of complications in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the Apgar score was significantly higher than that in the control group (all P <0.05). CONCLUSION: The specific diet education program can intervene the constipation of expectant pregnant women, prevent contractions induced by constipation or even premature birth, reduce pregnancy complications and improve the quality of life of perinatal children.
