关于图书馆学的研究对象,我国图书馆学界40年来(1949—1989)进行过热烈争鸣,共发表论文70篇,有20种专著涉及到。这些论著中约有60种不同观点,其中有代表性的观点有11种。即:“要素说”、“矛盾说”、“规律说”、“关系说”、“知识说”、“层次说”、“结构——功能说”、“系统说”、“活动说”、“交流说”、“现象本质统一说”。这些学说都在不同程度上推动了当时的图书馆学基础理论的发展,但也都在不同程度上存在一些欠缺。主要是:“要素说”忽视了对图书
