油画家杜璞曾经生活和学习在镇江和南京,近年迁居苏州,创造了世界遗产系列和苏州园林系列两批作品。杜璞师承南京艺术学院沈行工教授,从南京艺术学院研究生毕业时就确立了一种自由、泼辣的“写意油画”风格,林风眠—苏天赐的传统经过几番递承,在杜璞笔下表现性笔触的迷恋,而色彩从林风眠的灰暗或血腥、苏天赐的甜蜜装饰变为浓烈泼辣,又显然具有我们这个时代的特点:张扬、自我肯定的,对自己所遇到的盛世的满足和赞美。因此,他笔下的传统建筑与景色,一扫平常印象之中的枯寂清淡,而表现得强烈、放逸,正是这个时代引人注目的新意,传统建筑和景色在失去其存在的文化根脉、周边环境乃至自身物质形态(遭到拆迁)的危险下仍然要放声歌唱,画家用翩翩起舞的笔触和色彩记录着这种夜莺的绝唱。如果我本人作画,我更可能会用哀婉的情绪来为传统长挽歌,但正因为杜璞的角度和立场与我是如此不同,反而引起了我的兴趣,我把他的方式看作这个时代普遍心理的真实记录。
