梅兰芳最得意的爱徒之一、一代红伶言慧珠,不仅人长得漂亮.有大家闺秀的风度.在艺术上更是出类拔萃,多才多艺,除擅演京剧青衣戏和昆剧外.还拍过电影,跻身明星行列,其艺术成就不在“四小名旦”之下。她走过了辉煌而曲折的人生道路.最后在“文革”中造反派的残酷迫害使她万念俱灰.终于在“文革”之初的一天深夜悬梁作古.以悲剧方式结束了自己的生命。言慧珠的生前挚友、上海《解放日报》记者、著名戏剧评论家许寅曾多次对笔者述及言慧珠的艺术成就及其遭遇.每一则故事都让人久久不能忘怀。
