中英联合声明签署以后,香港基本法的制定很快被提到议事日程上来.1985年4月10日,第六届全国人民代表大会第三次会议决定,成立中华人民共和国香港特别行政区基本法起草委员会,负责基本法的起草工作.同年6月18日,全国人大常委会通过了基本法起草委员会委员名单,起草委员会由59人组成,其中内地委员36人,香港委员23人.香港委员来自各个方面,各个阶层,具有广泛的代表性.1985年7月1日,基本法起草委员全正式成立并开始工作.
After the signing of the Sino-British Joint Declaration, the formulation of the Basic Law of Hong Kong was soon put on the agenda. On April 10, 1985, the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth National People’s Congress decided to establish the Basic Law Drafting Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China , In charge of the drafting of the Basic Law On June 18 the same year, the NPC Standing Committee adopted a list of members of the Basic Law Drafting Committee composed of 59 members, including 36 members from the Mainland and 23 from Hong Kong.
