In 1943, Tanner-McDonald’s first reported non-specific prostatitis. In 1967, Epstein suggested that the granulomatous granuloma of the prostate is a tissue damage response that is caused by a poorly soluble substance produced by the aggregation and proliferation of reticuloendothelial cells. It can happen as a foreign body reaction or an allergic reaction. Histological examination revealed epithelial cells, lymphocytes, plasma cells and several eosinophilic cells in the parenchyma of the gland, with scattered multinucleated giant cells. The authors point out that non-specific granulomatous prostatitis is a rare type
