The Second West-East Gas Pipeline Project is the first large-scale pipeline project in China to introduce overseas natural gas resources. It is of great and far-reaching significance for optimizing the structure of energy consumption in our country, easing the tight supply of natural gas, improving the operational level of natural gas pipelines and promoting the independent innovation of materials and equipment significance. The main trunk line of the project covers a total length of 4,843 kilometers and involves 14 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and 8 branch lines with a total length of 9103 kilometers. The total designed gas transmission capacity of the project is 30 billion cubic meters per year. Whether this project can accomplish the construction task with high quality, safety and efficiency is the key factor.
