心底那股不灭的炽热,是我们成就梦想的动力。因小说《斯通纳》为人熟知的约翰·威廉斯,如他笔下的斯通纳一样,是个风度翩翩略带忧郁的学院派作家。埋首卷帙,执着于品味人生,道阻且长的梦想囿于际遇静待解语者。威廉斯的第二部小说《屠夫十字镇》是一本如假包换的西部小说。同样思考人生探讨梦想,《斯通纳》是理智谨慎长于思考,《屠夫十字镇》则是壮怀激烈勇于行动。威廉斯向我们展现了人生的另一面:
