１９９３年３月，中国香港ＳＡＲ从两名住院的儿童分离到了人流感病毒株，并进一步作了基因分析。该毒株经伦敦（联合王国）和亚特兰大（美国）的ＷＨＯ协作中心确证为甲型流感（Ｈ９Ｎ２）。其结果揭示：该毒株与１９９７年香港ＳＡＲＨ５Ｎ１流感大暴发中鉴定到的毒株Ａ／Ｑ
In March 1993, the Hong Kong SAR of China isolated the human influenza virus strain from two hospitalized children and further genetically analyzed it. The strain was confirmed as Influenza A (H9N2) by WHO Collaborating Centers in London (United Kingdom) and Atlanta (USA). The results revealed that the strain was associated with the strain A / Q identified in the 1997 SARS outbreak in Hong Kong
