First, the December oil and chemical sector market review December 2016 Shanghai and Shenzhen A stock index began to call back. As of Dec. 31, the Shanghai Composite Index, the Shenzhen Composite Index and the Shanghai and Shenzhen 300 Index dropped 4.50%, 6.54% and 6.44% respectively as compared with the beginning of the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the base chemical sub-index for December dropped 2.24% YoY on the broader market, while the oil and petrochemical sector was boosted by the increase in crude oil prices, which rose 3.73%.
