For the first time, the “two sessions” of 2007 allow journalists from overseas media to make direct interviews after obtaining the consent of NPC deputies and CPPCC members themselves. In their view, this is the first exercise since the implementation of the Regulations on Interviewing Foreign Journalists in China during the Beijing Olympic Games and Its Preparations since January 1, 2007 and the interview with the NPC and CPPCC as the pre-2008 Beijing Olympics China is an indicator of the transparency of the international media. For the first time, the Press Center of National People’s Congress announced the detailed address of the delegation’s station and, for the first time, allowed foreign reporters to directly contact the interviewers with a number of new initiatives. It also enabled the overseas reporters to truly feel the atmosphere of opening up. The author interviewed the “two sessions” for many years and was well acquainted with many overseas reporters who run in Beijing. As China has become more closely linked with the international community, the “two sessions” have been constantly changing in the eyes of these overseas media.
