In 2008, China’s economy experienced an unprecedented test: from the rare snow disaster in the 50 years of the beginning of the year to the Wenchuan earthquake of 5.12 magnitude and to the unprecedented economic crisis that is taking place in the world at present. Under such difficult conditions, China’s economy can still achieve the growth rate of 9% of GDP and successfully host the Olympic Games. But it is still recognized by the world as the most important engine of global economic growth. This achievement is indeed hard-won. The Chinese government and people have handed over a satisfactory answer sheet to the world.
