The purpose of this study was to study the influence of mixed pit noise and walkman equipment on the human auditory system, to further enhance the hearing protection of tunnel workers, to investigate the noise of tunnel operation and the hazards of Walkman to the auditory system of the troops and soldiers. Methods A total of 73 workers engaged in tunneling operations and 53 people using MP3 for a long time were surveyed with the exception of otorhinolaryngology other diseases, and pure tone audiometry and acoustic conductivity were performed. Hearing from the noise before the test more than 20 hours, pure tone in the soundproof room and acoustic conductivity check. Stata software for statistical analysis of hearing test results. Results Hearing examination showed that there were 3 persons (4.11%, 3/73) hearing loss in the tunnel operation group, with an average hearing threshold of 50 dBHL. There were 30 (41.10%, 30/73) high frequency hearing impairments with frequencies of 3.0 kHz and 4.0 kHz, 6.0kHz, 8.0kHz high-frequency area, the average hearing threshold of 46dBHL. The number of hearing-impaired persons with MP3s dropped to 17 (32.08%, 17/53) with a mean hearing threshold of 45 dBHL. There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in hearing loss frequency between long-term use of MP3 and audio-visual hearing loss in tunnel operation group, and there was no significant difference in hearing loss between two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusions Tunnel noise may cause hearing loss of tunnel workers, and noise protection needs to be further strengthened. Long-term use of MP3 can also cause hearing loss.
