Medical English vocabulary with a large number of complex structure, is a major difficulty for students to learn. Prototype theory in cognitive linguistics is in line with the cognitive rules of students and is a new concept construction mode that guides the teaching of medical English vocabulary. This article will combine the characteristics of medical English vocabulary and explore the application of prototype category theory in medical English vocabulary teaching.
