The noble and new book, “On Planning and Market”, is a monograph recently published by People's Daily Press in support of studying Deng Xiaoping's important southern tour talk. The basic idea of this book is that both planning and market are objective requirements for the development of socialized mass production and commodity economy. They should not be opposed to each other. Instead, they should be organically integrated to establish an organic combination of planning and market System and operation mechanism. As early as November 16, 1987, the author of this book published an article in People's Daily, pointing out that both plan adjustment and market regulation are both ways and hands that reflect the law of modern socialized mass production and commodity economy
