Steroid hormone receptor is a cell with steroid hormone closely, specifically binding protein. When the cells without steroid treatment were homogenized and then subjected to ultracentrifugation, it was found that the receptor mainly existed in the cytoplasm. However, recent evidence suggests that in intact cells, unbound steroid hormone receptors are predominantly located in the nucleus. Upon binding of the steroid hormone to the receptor, the receptor undergoes temperature-dependent transformation to form a transformed form that is tightly bound to the nucleus and to some polyanion. Within the nucleus, the transformed (or activated) steroid hormone-receptor complex can enhance or inhibit the transcription of a particular gene. Recently, some very interesting studies have shown that steroid hormone-receptor complexes bind to specific DNA regions close to regulatory genes. Another study on steroid hormone receptors has prompted the ministry
