In the Changji groundwater balance test site in the northern foot of Tianshan Mountains, a representative crop of winter wheat was selected for simulation experiment. The water consumption of winter wheat at different growth stages was observed, and the effect of submerged depth on crop water consumption was analyzed. The research results have practical significance for the evaluation of groundwater resources, the temporal and spatial control of soil water resources, the economical use of water for agriculture and the high and stable grain yield
