图书、情报部门在信息服务中,越来越多地接触的是技术和贸易性质的信息;贸易促进单位诸如联合国技术信息促进系统(UN—TIPS)有关招标、商品提供、资金需求类信息都涉及到报价、结算、转帐、兑付等一系列金融活动。其中首当其冲的就是货币单位的代码问题。图书情报工作人员遇到这类问题常常手足无措。但是,无论是书价、期刊价,还是涉及上述的技贸信息,都常常摆脱不了货币单位问题的困扰。看来,有关方面的知识也是图书、情报工作人员不可或缺的。
