《中学语文课本里要不要保留异体字》那篇短文在1961年12月号《文字改革》月刊发表后,有中学语文教师朋友来谈怎样对待文言课文里的异体字问题。大家意见有分歧:有人主张照本宣扬,让学生识得一些古字;有人以为这是无足重轻的小事情,不必留意,有人认为应该贯彻异体字整理的精神,认真地批判对待。我支持最后一种意见。语文课的识字教学必须着重结合正字法,异体字教学同样要遵循这一个原则。在当前的汉字简化方针指导下,正字法的任务之一就是淘汰异体字。不在语文课文本身保留异体字,应该
