高校图书馆是教育、科学、文化的集合体,它具有教育育人、服务育人、管理育人等多种职能,而尤以教育职能最为重要。前国家教委负责人曾强调指出:“教育职能的内容是配合学校思想政治工作,对学生进行思想政治教育;直接配合教学进行专业教育;扩大学生知识面,进行综合教育;对读者进行利用文献的教育”。法律专业图书馆工作的主要目标是培养社会主义的法律人才,它在发扬社会主义民主、健全社会主义法制的过程中,精神文明建设中发挥着重要作用。
