病害是威胁植物生产的一个重要因素。据联合国粮农组织(FAO)估计,农作物每年由于病虫为害造成的损失可达潜在产量的30％。果树和葡萄也不例外。据多娄德利塔等估计,全世界有1,000万公顷葡萄,年产约5,000—5,600万吨,而由病虫害和不良环境条件损失掉的产量约有2,600万吨。霜霉病是葡萄的一种世界性病害。虽然在正常情况下可以用化学药剂进行有效的控制,但在多雨的年份它常常大发生,给生产造成巨大损失。
Diseases are an important factor threatening plant production. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), crop losses due to pests and diseases are up to 30% of potential production each year. Fruit trees and grapes are no exception. According to estimates by Lou Louletta, there are 10 million hectares of grapes in the world and an annual output of about 5,000-56 million tons. However, about 26 million tons are lost from pests and diseases and from adverse environmental conditions. Downy mildew is a worldwide disease of grapes. Although chemical fertilizers can be effectively controlled under normal conditions, it often occurs in rainy years, causing huge losses to production.
